Mr. Misery

Mr. Misery
What are you selling me?
A bucket-full of teardrops
So I can cry myself to sleep
I don't need
Your hand-me-down excuses
I have learned that there's no use for it with her

You were telling me
That I ought to be
A little more careful
And I'll have to agree
I need
A little less confusion
'Cause I've come to the conclusion that I can't

It's a peddlers paradise
Two miles north of desperation
He's got everything you need
From broken hearts to broken trust
And old "I'm sorry's" lie in the dust
Cheap mistakes are buy one get one free
At Mr. Misery's

Sir, can't you see
What this means to me
I'm tired of the feeling of an empty heartbeat
I don't need
Your hand-me-down "I love you's"
I could see from up above you couldn't tell
That I depended on
But she was never strong enough to take a hard time
and use it as a crutch
She was the stronger of the two of us
But I couldn't get through enough to her

It's a peddlers paradise
Two miles north of desperation
He's got everything you need
From broken hearts to broken trust
And old "I'm sorry's" lie in the dust

Cheap mistakes are buy one get one free

At Mr. Misery's

She could guarantee
That I couldn't see
Past her everyday lies
And I finely told her
"I don't need
Your hand-me-down excuses
I can tell that there's no use for them with you"

20 Sounds So Much Older

I sit outside and watch the moonbeams

Chasing down the sunset

But it won’t catch it

I watch the moon race across the night sky

To be defeated by the sunrise

And the stars hide

I’m just waiting for you to realize

That I’m the one breath

You need to take next

If you’re the sun then I’m the moonlight

That’s never in your line of sight

But I still try

In your life picture I’m just a background

Well maybe you could turn around

How does that sound?

I’m just waiting for you to realize

That I’m the one breath

You need to take next

And I know someday I’ll look into your eyes

And see the same spark

That burns in my heart

When we start to talk of how you’ve been

You smile and talk of him

But I hold it in
